Names in different languages
Concepts that are specific to Novus Ignis have one Latin name, the same in every language. In the texts we usually write them in translation and give the Latin name at first use, for example “issue map (Mappa Causae)”. This way people who speak different languages can name and search for the same concept in the same way.
Other terms have one fixed translation in each language, so that all translations speak about the same things in the same words.
As of 31 October 2026. This glossary is a work in progress: we keep adding languages and concepts to it. If a translation in your language reads wrong, select it and send a comment on the translation. We want these concepts to become one of the first issues in Omniforum, where it will be possible to discuss their definitions and whether a name captures their meaning well.
